A Little About Me

Hi, I'm Renee. I live on an island in Alaska. I have been married for twenty-two (!!) years to an amazingly patient man. If you knew me, you would understand why I use the word patient to describe my wonderful husband. We have seven daughters and two sons. Our oldest daughter is married and has one son. (!!!) Our youngest child is seven.

After a life altering season of questioning my faith, I discovered my spiritual gifts. The gift of exhortation is my primary gift. Searching for ways to exercise this gift, I began writing. I have been totally amazed at how He uses the words I write to encourage others. I am blessed beyond words when He chooses to use something I write to speak to another heart.

Jesus says, "Those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." John 4:14

When I write it is like the fountain of living water rising up from within and spilling over the brim of my heart.

One of my favorite portions of Scripture is Romans 12:1-2. I especially like how it reads in The Message Bible.

So here’s what I want you to do,

God helping you:

Take your everyday, ordinary life—

your sleeping, eating, going-to-work,

and walking-around life—

and place it before God as an offering.

Embracing what God does for you

is the best thing you can do for him.

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture

that you fit into it without even thinking.

Instead, fix your attention on God.

You’ll be changed from the inside out.

Readily recognize what he wants from you,

and quickly respond to it.

Unlike the culture around you,

always dragging you down to its level of immaturity,

God brings the best out of you,

develops well-formed maturity in you.

I want to encourage you to drink deep of the soul satisfying Well of Living Water, everydayAllow Jesus to refresh, strengthen and encourage you through his Word..........and walk in the grace He supplies.

What a lovely family you have, and a beautiful story. It's a joy to read about your redemption!
Oh I love that! And your photos from Sitka--wow! I spent 2 years in Juneau in high school and I do miss SE Alaska. Since the Lord seems to be leading you this way anyway, have you read The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson? You should. :) Blessings!

Love this. Wow 9 children. That's awesome. Love how God captured your heart. He captured mine in 2001 and nothing has ever been the same since.
Blessings to you,
Janis (I do have a children's book, Tadeo Turtle, with a curriculum if you are interested for home schooling.)
