Grace to Believe

May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. Paul closes every one of his letters to the church with an appeal for God’s grace to be with us. How important is that? In the end, it comes down to this one thing, the grace of God. Without the grace of God in our lives we are just going to mess up this whole thing on earth. God’s grace protects us from going too far, either to the right or the left. It keeps us walking the narrow road that leads to eternal life.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9
Grace is about the power to live a godly life in the midst of a perverse and crooked world. Perverse and crooked because the world’s sin is that it does not believe. You must love the Lord your God with all your heart,  all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. Luke 10:27
I don't know if I have ever loved Jesus like that............
Oh Lord Jesus, will you wake me up and lay me down with your name upon my lips. Teach me how to love you first, before anyone or anything. Be the focus of my day. Teach me love. I am desperate to know this love for you, as if you are the very breath I need to live. I want to love you like that. Occupy all of my heart, all of my soul, all of my mind and be all of my strength. Your presence, your name, your face, you alone. Jesus. I want to know you, I want to love you, intimately.
Am I in love with God? This is my prayer for 2014. To understand this love.

To fall deeply in love with Jesus.

One word, LOVE.
Love God.
