Changing Lives

Some thoughts I had while reading Colossians chapter one this morning;

This same Good News that came to you is going out over all the world.

You are not alone.

It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives,
just as it changed your lives from the day that you first heard
and understood the truth about God's wonderful grace.

Believe this my friends. God is at work in you for his good pleasure. You are His delight. His creation from the beginning of time. Don't doubt this. He will give you the ability to make right choices so that you can please Him with your lives, bearing fruit that proves you are his child. He is changing you. It may seem slow at times, but trust His grace at work in your life. And pray.

Pray? Who does that?

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

Who doesn't need this? I will pray for you. Will you pray this for me? We need this. There's more;

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.

Power to endure? Power to be patient? Yes, please. I see this picture of a huge powerful wave threatening to catch me up in it's tumble with the shore. A surge of emotions, frustration, anger, impatience, etc. And God's glorious power surrounding me like a deflector shield filled with peace. All the violent rushing of the waves crashing in around me and I am at peace as God fills me with power to endure and be patient. Awesome.

And one more thing, because that is just how God is, always giving us more than we could ask or think.

May you be filled with joy.

Power to endure, power to be patient and filled with joy. This is good good fruit.

And all we can do is thank him.

Always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

So let's pray dear sisters and brothers. I'll pray for you. Will you pray for me? Who doesn't want to walk with God like this?
