In Everything ...................Give Thanks

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord,
you must continue to follow him.
Let your roots grow down into him,
and let your lives be built upon him.
Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and,
You will overflow with thankfulness.
Colossians 2:6-7

Overflow with thankfulness.......................

27. Thank you Lord for the grey clouds. The cold gray ugly wet clouds. Yes, thank you.

This is my attitude today. I am not overflowing the right kind of thanks. Yet, this is what is bubbling up and out today. My wet soppy attitude. Rain, rain, rain..........This is what happens when you live on an island in a rainforest in Alaska. This is what you get to be thankful for 75% of the time. I know, my husband tells me all of the time, "It's not about the weather." Yah, so you say.

28. Okay, I am also thankful for my little corner in this bustling coffee house on this cold, damp, gray cloudy day, and the familiar faces every time I look up. I'm thankful that I am not alone in this cloud. I am thankful for humanity. Thank you God for creating us, each one special, each one unique, each one awesome. So, maybe it isn't all about the weather. Maybe my husband is right, again.

29. Thank you Lord. Thank you. Just, thank you.

In everything give thanks.
Be thankful in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1Thessalonians 5:18

As I shift my focus to thanking God, I am amazed at how each time I find myself in a very different place then when I began. It is like the Word becoming flesh in me! I am living the very Word of God! In Him we live and move and have our being! Acts 17:28

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart,
I will enter His courts with praise!
Psalm 100:4

Galatians 5:16 says, "LET the Holy Spirit guide your lives." Through thanksgiving we enter into God's presence. Through thanksgiving we follow the Spirit's leading. Our outward circumstances may not change, but something unexplainable happens to our inward man. We are transformed.

Romans 12 :2 says, "LET God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

For it is God who is working in us, giving us the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13 But, we must let him.

I want to encourage you to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving to your Creator today. (Psalm 50:14) I think you will find the results more than satisfactory. LET him fill you with the peace that passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7) LET him fill you with overflowing joy. (John 15:11) LET him give you the rich and satisfying life he intends for you. (John 10:10.)

Lord Jesus, help us to have the faith of a child................

This is the God we serve. This is the creator of all we see. This is his heart toward us who believe. Thank him my friend, thank him and be amazed.

You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasure of living with you forever.
Psalm 16:11

Love as always,

Oh, you there! Far away on your island in Alaska :-) I live also in a very wet country near the sea. Also just rain and gray clouds. We've had a full week of sunshine this year. Hope the summer is coming soon.

What it teaches me? Our God is also the God of the drab, gray days. He shines. He warms. Even if we live in a cold, foggy country.

Surprise: Today the sun is shining here in the Netherlands. What a blessing.

Overflow. Exactly. Thanks for drenching me in thankfulness today. Your words and photos splash pure joy.

Delighted to meet you today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. This looks like a refreshing place to dip onto goodness.
