Journal = Recording The Journey

The following words are a glimpse into my journal, and the journey I am on.

Follow Me

The Word became flesh.  ~Jesus.

Take up your cross daily and follow Me.....follow Me....follow Me.... ~Jesus

me

what happens to me
my rights
my experience
going to church
the sermon on Sunday
the songs, the worship leader, the musicians......

If any of you wants to be My follower,
you must turn from your selfish ways,
take up your cross, and follow Me. ~Jesus
Matthew 16:24

Church IS NOT about whether my ears were tickled and my heart stroked.

Where does the Bible teach us to focus on ourselves? Our buildings? Our comfort?

If you try to hang on to your life you will lose it.
But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Is anything worth more than your soul? ~Jesus
Matthew 16:25-26

Reflection

He was just and right in all his dealings. That is why God blessed him. He gave justice and help to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. 'Isn't that what it means to know Me?' says the Lord. Jeremiah 22:15 ~Jesus

follow Me............~Jesus

He will do what is just and right throughout the land. And this will be His name, 'The Lord Is Our Righteousness.' Jeremiah 23:6   Yahweh Tsidquenu ~Jesus

follow Me............... ~Jesus

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up His life for us.
1John 3:16

follow Me........ ~Jesus

Becoming a Christian is not the end goal, it is just the start. I am waking up to something so beautiful.......

How did I miss this for so long? Christ in me the hope of glory.

Written on our hearts, we are all longing and looking for more. I know you are too, just like me. He has branded our hearts with this longing, this emptiness without Him. He wants us to want Him. He loves us like that. He gave Himself to us, for us, His love is strong and deep and beckoning, always calling to that emptiness written into our hearts. He doesn't give up on us.

follow Me...... ~Jesus

I think I am starting to touch upon why God sat me down hard in quiet solitude this month.

He is taking all of this excitement, anticipation and energy from my head and dropping it into my heart, to someplace I don't know how to describe.

He is changing me. Something foundational inside of me is changing. I am seeing life from a different perspective. Christianity is not about me, however much I read, I memorize, I change, I do, I..I..I..I..!!

No...No...No... not me.

I am looking around and looking up and realizing the part I play is to ............die. To take up this cross of glory and carry it, everyday. To follow my Lord. The Word becoming flesh............... in me.

The world, broken and bleeding needs healing.

follow Me

Jesus

He is teaching me and leading me.

He leads the humble in doing right, and teaching them His way.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness.
Psalm 25:9-10

Tracy that is AWESOME!! I have carried you on my heart off and on lately. I believe God has a work for you, as He does for all of us, and it is very specific. Trust Him sister, trust Him. He will not fail you. Sometimes He asks us to do things we are totally incapable of doing. That is when we lean on Him the most, and that is when His glory fills our lives, and that is when we really live Matthew 5:16. His Word becoming flesh in is. I love you and look forward to eternity with you. You can do ALL things through Jesus Christ!!

"He is teaching me and leading me."
He is teaching me and leading, me, too.

Yes, He is flowing through your pen, and the offering of all in the center of your circle...just something precious to ponder. I look forward to hearing more from you and your pen in the days aheady, Rene!

I loved how you attributed every phrase and Scripture to Jesus. He is the author. He is the Word. He gives us words to express and explore our faith in him. I love the red heart in the chalk circle image...
