We Are Not Alone

Stay alert!
Watch out for your great enemy the devil.
He prowls around like a roaring lion,
looking for someone to devour.
Stand firm against him,
and be strong in your faith.
Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters
all over the world
are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
1Peter 5:8-9

Let's be honest with each other.
Do you feel, or have you ever felt, alone?

Last week I had an eye opening experience with my dear sister. Together, sitting in the car, telling our stories, I realized, I am not alone. Her struggles are mine, and in the telling, in the sharing, we are strengthened, encouraged, and set free. Words pour out and somehow they wash the pain away.  Life seems do-able again.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16

Oh, my friend, my dear sweet sister friend. Lets not believe the lies of Satan. The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. He is the father of lies. You ARE NOT alone, and we are not perfect. Let's be real with each other. Admit our weaknesses, live life real. Lets be honest.

Reading my sister's heart as she lays it bare, open, bleeding on the messy page, life ugly, and I realize I don't have it all together, and I am a mess, and she is not alone. I am strengthened and encouraged to press on in this sometimes difficult race, because there is hope in the sharing. As I read the hard words she courageously shares my heart is softened and I pray for us. Thank you my friend.

We are not alone, we are on this battlefield together, and people are bleeding out their wounds and we all need healing, we all need Him. We need each other. We need real transparent life.

We are not alone, and life is sometimes messy.

We need each other. Lets weave our hearts into each other, and remember that we are not alone, none of us perfect. We need to tell each other our stories.

Finally, all of you should be of one mind.
Sympathize with each other.
Love each other as brothers and sisters.
1Peter 3:8

My seven year old son brought me this beautiful picture of a heart while I was writing this. I believe God inspired him to draw this for us! A lot goes on in our hearts. Dirt and slugs and spiders and flowers and blue skies and sunshine. Lets be real with each other! We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free!

Love one another,
Renee

Counting thanks with Ann today. Thankful for my husband's covering, Christian singer songwriters writing words to my heart, Jesus Christ shining in this earthen vessel, independent lovely children, the warmth of a wood stove, the chill of a clear blue sky day in November, sister friends to share life with, homeschooling home life, my faithful chocolate lab, and soo much more!

Also linking with Courtney, Emily and Jacqueline today.

Renee, this is so sweet today. Your words waft the pleasant fragrance of our Savior's grace. I appreciate genuine honesty and the freedom it ushers into our worlds. In this way, we help carry each others' loads. This family system God set up is so very good!

We are all a mess!
Your son's picture melts my heart. Obviously he doesn't see the mess, he sees love. What a blessing!
even when we feel alone, we need to remember that we are never alone. I love this verse about remembering others!

Authenticity makes fellowship so deep, and you've illustrated that so well here. Your son's picture is perfect too! The messiness of our hearts is the soil from which beauty grows! (I found you at Emily's :)
