Let's Make It Count!

I have been thinking about eternity recently, and living my life in the reality of eternity. I read something this morning that encouraged me not to let that focus drop. It was a short excerpt from a book, the author was talking about preparing to die. Ready or not, we are all going there someday. She was sharing about her fear of dying, which I believe is a common fear that all of humanity shares, myself included.  Fear of anything unknown has the power to paralyze me. I'm the sort that likes to see around the block before I start.

So this is my exhortation for you today,

Are you ready to die? Are you prepared?

Preparation for death is really preparation to stand before Jesus.

I for one, am NOT ready. I feel like I have wasted most of my life up until recently. Not in a condemnation sort of way, but in a motivational sort of way. I want the rest of my life to count. I long to hear the words, 'Well done, My child."

What are we doing with the gifts and talents that our Cre…

Spiritual Gifts

We are each created with a unique purpose in this life. You matter! I matter! Everything in your life up until this point has contributed to the unique contribution you can make in this world.

If you read 1Corinthians 12-14, Romans 12, Ephesians 4:1-16, and 1Peter 4:10-11 it is abundantly clear that God has given each of us a special job to do in the body of Christ, and spiritual gifts enable us to do it.

He gives us gifts the day we are born into the family of God. When we are born again, not of water, but of the Spirit of God, our heavenly Father showers us with grace. Spiritual Gifts are a part of that. If you are a born again child of God then you have been given at least one special gift. What I find to be the most unique thing about these gifts is what they are for. They are not for us! Well they are and they aren't. The benefit we receive from these gifts is only evident when we use them to the edification of others. God's grace is truly amazing. Not something I could …

It Is Soooo Worth It!

As I was praying I heard myself thanking God for this new awakening I have been experiencing. I described it as being born again, again. That is how amazing the transformation in my walk with God has been! My Pastor describes me as a "bright blinking light!".

For the next little while, Lord willing :-), I am going to share with you how I discovered my Spiritual Gifts, and how God has opened doors and opportunities for me to walk in faith, testing, trying and building confidence in His divine ability working through me. My motivation for this is to give you a better understanding of what it looks and feels like to be a well played instrument in the hand of God.

I am praying for you! I am hoping that you will be encouraged and motivated to step out and allow God to use you for His glory and the building up of His body, the Church. God wants to use you! He wants you to know the gifts He has given you. He has equipped you for a fruitful life. Bearing fruit is very important to…

Hold On!

Okay so I said I was going to share about my journey of discovering my spiritual gifts next, but hey, who knows the mind of God? I kind of had a feeling that it was unwise to tell you what was coming next. God is leading here and I am following, which means that usually I can't see more than the step I am on. He has never yet allowed me to see very far down the road. I am by nature a list maker and a planner. But since I embarked on this journey of total surrender I have totally left off from list making. That is another topic that I have been writing about but have not yet published. I'll share it with you some day soon, LORD WILLING.

I have been meditating on the storms of life lately. Being in a bit of one is what brought it up. Coming through the storm, I am looking back realizing that I totally failed in some areas. I am reminded of a verse in Corinthians somewhere that says 'take heed if you think you stand lest you fall................'

I'm getting up now.
